Taman Ayun Temple, Badung, Bali

Taman Ayun Temple is located in District Mengwi, Badung District, Bali Province. Taman Ayun in Balinese language means "beautiful garden". This temple was founded in 1634 AD by order of the first king of the Kingdom of Mengwi, I Gusti Agung Ngurah Made Agung Sakti title Belambangan Ida Cokorda.

Pura Taman Ayun Indonesian government has been proposed as one of the world cultural heritage sites (world heritage). On March 12, 2008, UNESCO Director General Matsuura Kokhiro visiting Taman Ayun Temple kelayakanya testing. The result, dianilai temple has historical value, cultural, religious, and have a taste of high art. Although already part of the world's cultural heritage, but the temple is still used for prayers until now

Taman Ayun Temple stands on an area of 4 hectares and is surrounded by a pond or ditch. From a distance it looks like a moat of water bands, and gives the impression that temple is above the water surface. Taman Ayun Temple complex consists of three parts. The first room is open space used for various religious activities and stage arts. In the first part of this visitors can enjoy the beauty of Meru, the pagoda with terraced roof of a building typical of temples in Bali. The second part is the main part, called Bale Pelik. Pelik Bale Building is decorated with sculpture, reliefs, and statues Dewata Nawa Sanga. While other part is the sacred building.

Visitors also can see the kingdom of Mengwi heritage located about 300 yards from this temple. Across the Taman Ayun Temple is also a museum displaying Manusa Yadnya ceremonies related to the human life cycle starting from when he was in the womb until death.
