The Art of Dance Drama and Wayang Wong

Wayang Wong is essentially a mask and performing arts perwayangan with human actors or person (wong). In bringing the characters being played, all the dancers in dialogue, all the main characters wear Kawi, while the clown-servants wearing Balinese language. In some parts of the show, the dancers also sing and displays the temple - the temple is important from Kakawin.

In Bali there are two types of Wayang Wong, Wayang Wong Ramayana namely, and Wayang Wong Parwa. Wayang Wong Ramayana Wayang Wong later called it, is the only dramatari perwayangan take wira carita plays from the Ramayana. Almost all the dancers wear masks. Wayang Wong Parwa commonly called Parwa namely the dramatari wayang wong plays wira carita take Mahabrata (Asta Dasa Parwa). The dancers are not wearing a mask, except for the clown-servants, such as Malen, Merdah, Sanggut, Delem. Gamelan Batel Wayang accompanied by a barreled Slendro. Parwa are in the villages:

* Sukawati, Teges, Pujung (Gianyar)
* Blahkiuh (Badung).
